SCOPE OF WORK / DUTIES / ROLES
- Defining and implementing documentation for the database strategies to keep the DB platforms inventory and best practices set in place;
- Supporting Database Service costing calculations, Outsourcing strategies and Service Level Agreements;
- Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize and write procedure RDBMS related manuals;
- Assist Subject Matter Experts in creating first drafts from process maps, outlines, and direct observation;
- Develop comprehensive documentation that meets the organizational standards;
- Create new or revise existing content with a high degree of quality;
- Act as subject matter expert in document creation, format and alteration;
- Performs routine installation, re-configuration, backups of database and related products on on-premises and cloud environments;
- Monitoring the performance of assigned systems and the definition and implementation of adequate measures ensuring an optimal performance and high availability of the DB services;
- Implementing/configuring and managing database platforms on top of containerized platform technologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance;
- Proven working experience in Database Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and Standard Operation Instructions (SOI) for a general audience;
- Knowledge of the Database technologies (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL);
- A good understanding of more advanced architectures on High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, like server clustering and virtual infrastructures;
- Good understanding for running/configuring Database Technologies on Containerized Platform Technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
