SCOPE OF WORK / DUTIES / ROLES
  • Administer, configure, and manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC;
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for AWS-related issues, investigating and resolving operational problems in a timely manner;
  • Provision and maintain virtual machines, storage, and databases on AWS, ensuring high availability and performance;
  • Manage and optimize AWS networking components like VPCs, subnets, route tables, VPNs, and Direct Connect;
  • Automate the deployment and management of AWS resources using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools;
  • Develop scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate routine tasks, such as instance management, backups, and scaling;
  • Perform other duties, as may be required.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance;
  • Have a graduate degree in Computer and Information Systems Technology or an equivalent level of qualification or professional accreditation by a related engineering Institute or professional body;
  • Experience with Amazon AWS cloud environment (IAM, EC2, ALB, Cloudfront, Cloudformation, WAF, Monitoring, Storage, Cognito);
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes clusters and Docker containers;
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD);
  • Proficiency in managing and securing VPC networks, firewalls, and access control;
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus);

Language Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential. A working knowledge of the second language is desirable.
  • Note: The majority of work at the NCI Agency is conducted in English.
