SCOPE OF WORK / DUTIES / ROLES
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN infrastructure across offices, campuses, and data center edge environments;
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot switching and campus routing technologies;
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot firewall rules and traffic isolation;
- Support access layer services including NAC, 802.1X authentication, port security, and endpoint onboarding;
- Monitor LAN health using Splunk and other monitoring platforms; create dashboards, alerts, and operational reports;
- Analyze logs and telemetry data to proactively identify risks, incidents, and performance issues;
- Develop automation solutions using Python or Ansible to streamline switch provisioning, audits, backups, and standards compliance;
- Utilize monitoring tools to track switch health, interface utilization, latency, and service availability;
- Lead incident response for critical LAN outages and restore services within SLA targets;
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring incidents;
- Serve as senior escalation point for complex LAN issues and strategic initiatives;
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices in campus networking;
- Lead LAN projects such as office rollouts, switch refreshes, migrations, and network expansions;
- Maintain accurate documentation, standards, and operational procedures for the LAN environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum CCNP Enterprise (or equivalent advanced certification);

7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise LAN engineering and operations;

Strong expertise in routing and switching including VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP, OSPF, and campus design;

Advanced knowledge of enterprise switching platforms such as Cisco Catalyst, Aruba CX, Juniper EX, or similar;

Strong expertise in firewalling (Palo Alto) including creation and maintenance of rulesets, as well as monitoring of traffic flows;

Experience with Splunk for monitoring, log analysis and troubleshooting;

Network automation skills using Python or Ansible is a nice to have;

Hands-on knowledge of network monitoring tools for device health, availability, and performance;

Strong understanding of 802.1X, NAC, and access control technologies (Cisco ISE, ClearPass, or similar);

Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and major outage resolution;

Experience mentoring engineers, leading projects, and acting as senior escalation point.
