SCOPE OF WORK / DUTIES / ROLES
- Build and manage cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS);
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment;
- Collaborate closely with a small team to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance;
- Troubleshoot and optimize applications and infrastructure for high availability and security;
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and best practice sharing;
- Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly web applications using React.js and TypeScript;
- Design and implement backend services and APIs using Python;
- Support the deployment of prototype systems (e.g., SDA Dashboard) on NU and NS networks;
- Advise STAR team on deployment solutions and options available within NCIA, according to NCIA CIS architecture;
- The services will be delivered in Sprints, and each sprint will have the duration of 1 month;
- The content and scope of each sprint will be agreed during the sprint-planning meeting, in writing, based on the activities mentioned above;
- Complete the activities/tasks agreed in each spring meeting;
- Produce sprint completion reports (format: e-mail update), which include details of activities performed. Specifically, the reports and products delivered and meeting attended to support the product development.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Motivated, good communication skills, team player;
- 2 Years' experience as a DevOps Engineer;
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Azure DevOps);
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Gitlab);
- Good working knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes);
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a team;
- Flexibility and willingness to learn on the job—we value adaptability and a proactive attitude;
- Familiarity with database systems like PostgreSQL;
- Nationally recognized/certified university qualification on computer science / programming;
- Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 3 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function;
Desirable:
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights);
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and event-driven systems;
- Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards;
- Experience with working in a closed environment;
- Experience using React.js and TypeScript;
- Experience with implementing backend services and APIs using Python 5.
